Byrdie Glossybox Review October 2013 and promo code/ coupon code

My Glossybox came last week, but we were so busy I didn’t get a chance to post until now! This box arrived super early this month, unlike last month (please keep it up, Glossybox- I hate getting boxes from the previous month into the next month!) I love Glossybox, and I would say it’s in my top 5 boxes. (although this is the only makeup box I currently receive!)

Glossy box is a monthly subscription box that has deluxe and full-size products.

The Cost: $21 a month (you can save more with 3-month, 6-month or annual subscription), but if you go through Ebates, you’ll save $2.75, making this box only $18.25

Promo code: there’s no promo code on this one, but if you go through Ebates, you can save $2.75, and get a free $10 Target gift card, making your first month close to free. Click here to go to Ebates first, then sign up and search Glossybox! And even if makeup isn’t your thing, or you’re a dude, check out Ebates for a second anyway! You get paid extra to buy the things you already buy on the internet!

If you already have Ebates, you can click on the link below to check out Glossybox:

I love that Glossybox always sends info cards. This month’s theme was a collaboration with Byrdie.

I knew one of the products was going to be this Tarte Mascara because of an email spoiler this month:

ImageTarte Lights, Camera, Flashes Statement Mascara ($23): I love the Tarte brand and I knew how much this mascara cost, so I was excited about the value of this one. It does make your lashes nice and long, but it also is kind of clumpy. Plus, I’m a loyal fan of Maybeline Great Lash (it keeps my lashes super long!) but I just ran out so I’ll still probably use this up. Plus, the packaging is fabulous.

Here’s what my lashes looked like (not a great picture, I took it with my phone, but you can see the lashes pretty well. Sorry, Tyra, I forgot to “Smize” (smile with your eyes).

Fresh Lotus Youth Preserve Face Cream ($12.60): This was nice to use after the exfoliating cream. I have to use it a little bit longer to tell if I really love it.

Bvlgari Eau Parfumee Au The Vert de Cologne ($4): ugh. I’m sort of sick of receiving tiny cologne bottles. Although this smells nice, neither of us wear cologne often so I’ll end up passing it on to someone.

Sesha Renu Exfoliating gel ($10?):  Oh. My. Gosh. I love this! This is definitely going on my Christmas list. My skin felt like I just had micro-derm, and I can honestly say that I’ve never used a product before that made my skin so soft! According to the website, the exfoliating gel “uses natural papaya enzyme to gently remove dead cells and unclog pores”. The strangest part was you could feel all of the dead skin cells coming off!

The final item was Balance Me Shine on Tinted Lip Salve ($19.37): I’m not sure what happened to my picture of this! But you can see it if you click on the link. I love the color of this gloss, and it isn’t sticky at all, but the smell is a bit weird. But it has lots of natural ingredients, so I just chalked it up to that.

This box had a value of nearly $120 – which is awesome! And I love that every item was full-sized with lots of makeup products, instead of just smaller samples like a lot of other makeup subscription boxes send. And the presentation and packaging is still the best I have seen. I’ve been getting Glossybox for a few months now and have yet to be disappointed. This one is a keeper for Christmas presents!

What do you guys think of Glossybox? I’m not super into experimental trends with makeup- I tend to keep my makeup pretty simple and classic colors, and this box delivers just that- beauty products anyone can use!
