Box Of Happies Review- first edition October 2013

Box of Happies is a subscription-box service that sends you 3-5 top-quality, handmade products a month from artists across the country.

We think Box of Happies sounds like a great idea for stocking up on hand-made Christmas presents and we’re excited to check out the their first box, the October box (we signed up today!). In addition, it supports artists (we have a lot of artists in our family!)

Another great thing about Box of Happies is that there are no recurring charges like a lot of other subscription boxes. I hate forgetting to cancel a box that I wasn’t a fan of and then getting charged for an extra month. Box of Happies lets you choose as many or as few boxes as you would like – and you don’t have to receive your boxes consecutively.

Box of Happies cost: $24.00 + $4.99 shipping

If you’re interested in signing up for the October box (the first box- so you know it’s going to be AWESOME!) you can use code “ 5PERCENT” to save 5% off of the first box

ImageBox of Happies shipped in a USPS priority mail envelope, and I was surprised to see it came in a little plastic box instead of the typical cardboard box. It came with a card with recommendations of how you could re-use your box!

The description card also included the value of each item which was really nice to see- it makes my job a lot easier! The first item was an adorable necklace from Mint Marbles on Etsy. I checked out their job and they have some cute stuff! My sister actually stopped over, saw this necklace (I was taking pictures) and yelled “I want that!” hahaha. Sorry, sis, I’m keeping this one! ($10 +shipping)

The next “Happy” was a set of adorable recipe cards from Petersen Designs on Etsy. I love giving out recipes, and I can’t wait to use these adorable cards! ($2)

next item was a pair of earrings created especially for Box of Happies, and guess what??? Box of Happies is giving one lucky reader a pair of their own! Just click on the link at the bottom of this review! I was so excited to see these in person! They’re really beautiful and look great on! Confession time: I ordered this box to get a pair of these for myself 🙂 ($8)

Next in the box, I received a little “sticky-notes” note book with a little gel pen from Leas Letters on Etsy. This is great because I can never seem to find post-it’s when we need them and I can just keep this out on the counter. Love it. ($4 + shipping)

The last item is a glass ring from Glasshealer.com. It reminds me of a galaxy or something, so cool. And since I’ve taken a glass class, I have a new-found appreciation for glass art. It’s hard stuff! ($3-$5)
