500 points if you name that tune!
Back to the box: September’s Love with Food box was a special gluten-free box, curated by chef Ming Tsai. For every box sold, Love with Food donates a meal to a hungry child. I was especially excited for this month, because I do have Celiac disease, and it’s nice to be able to eat as much of everything as I want sometimes 😉
Love with Food is one of our favorite boxes thanks to their low price:
Cost: between $10-$12 a subscription, but also because of their philanthropic mission.
Promo Code: Use “FBGIFT” to get your first box for free, just pay shipping (only $2!)

Here’s how the box shows up at your door:
First look: Packed with lots of gluten-free goodies this month:
Here’s the run-down of what was in it:
1. Fruit Snacks from YumEarth Organic (GF AND Vegan!: We loved these- fruit snacks are very popular in our house, and we like to make sure we buy somewhat healthy, organic fruit snacks. We’re crunchy like that. Sorry, kid.
2. Blueberry Fruit bar from Betty Lou’s (GF and Vegan!): LOVED IT! Our favorite item in this box, hands down. Sort of like a much better tasting nutri-grain bar, but gluten-free! We’ll be ordering these:
3. Cherry Berry Raw Cookie (GF)- this was pretty good, but was very crumpled up. I’d call it more of a “granola” than a cookie.
4. Cheddar Cheese Organicasaurus Corn Puffs: We (the adults) did not care for these at all, yet Auds ate them all within a few minutes, and were his favorite by far, so we might order some just for him down the road.
1. Sipping broth from Millies Savory Tea (GF and Vegan)- First of all, let me just say that when we opened our box, these guys had an overwhelming smell. Like Tortilla-soup so you can imagine it from home. Not bad, just WOAH. So we gave them a try, and I have to say, they are more like a watery broth than a tea. If I was vegan, these would be my go-to every time I was sick. I’m not vegan, so I stick to my “miracle” chicken soup. But these weren’t bad, and I could definitely see throwing a few vegetables in there or just drinking it on it’s own.
2. Roasted Red pepper artichoke Bruschetta: This was very good too, probably in third place. We had in with water crackers (the only thing I had around) and it was kind of salsa-y and good, fresh tasting. Here’s a pic of how fancy we are or are not:
Roasted Garlic Hummus (GF and Vegan): First, I’ve only ever liked 2 Hummus’ ever. LIKE EVER. (Some TAY-TAY in there for you). And I especially don’t care for Garlic Hummus. But I had my sister try it, who loves hummus, and she said it was pretty good, but a little too garlicky for her.
1. Crunchy Cinnamon Apple Chips (GF and Vegan): Our 2nd favorite. We loved them, and they taste like apple-pie. Plus the ingredients are: apples, cinnamon. I’m especially weird about my apples being organic so I love love love these. (Side note: I study biology and nutrition. I’m not sure if I’ve ever mentioned that on the blog before. We eat some things organic, and some things not. I know there’s probably a huge internet debate about organic food, and I’m not trying to make any statements for either side, or get into what’s best. I just know waaaay too much about certain food/health processes and regulations, and that makes me a weirdo, is all.)
2. Cosmos Creations- CInnamon Crunch (GF): pretty darn delicious. It’s nice that they finally got around to making gluten-free, organic Cinnamon-Toast Crunch for grown ups. We all loved this one. I wish the first two ingredients weren;t “sugar” and “Butter” -but I’ll just consider this more of a treat than a healthy snack:

Thanks for the reviews! It makes it easier for me to want to try new things that I usually only read about on the Internet. Food with Love seems like they are worth a try, especially considering their mission. Reminds me of Toms(the shoes) who donate a pair of shoes for every pair sold.

Thanks Cindy! Love with food is one of our favorites, and you’re right, it is similar to Toms!
